Monday Interview with Antoinette!

This week Antoinette from Anxiety Antoinette shares a little bit about her etsy shop.

Please tell us a bit about yourself?
I go by Antoinette! I'm from Buffalo, NY. I love making things with my hands, cooking and baking, reading and writing, and learning other cultures and languages.

What do you create? How long have you been working on your craft/art?
I make a bit of everything, but I "specialise" in custom bleached shirts. I've been making them for just over a year now.

How did you come up with your store name?
I made my Etsy four years ago, while I was studying French. My nickname in French class was "Antoinette." I am a fan of alliteration, and having anxiety, Anxiety Antoinette had a ring to it.

How does Buffalo influence your work?
I love Buffalo! I love representing Buffalo! I have made Buffalo shirts, NY shirts, and will make other city/state shirts as well. I also make scarves to keep warm in! (: I am also in a team with Methods & Madness's Sara, and Sewing Wonder's Pam, and we make all Buffalo-related wearables and accessories.

How do you promote your work to the world?
I do a lot online-- pinterest, facebook (www.facebook.com/anxietyantoinette), blogging (anxietyantoinette.wordpress.com), reddit, and treasuries on Etsy (www.etsy.com/shops/anxietyantoinette). I do contests and coupons on my facebook to promote sales and views. I do craft shows and give out business cards and sometimes candy with my card! I often wear my shirts in public to promote my work.

Where do your ideas come from? What do you do when your creatively blocked?
What inspires you?
I'm often inspired after a big craft show event. After so many people give me their ideas, I usually fill up with plenty of my own! After reading a good book, watching a new movie or show, or learning new things, I often come up with new ideas as well. This really helps when I get "writer's" block! My friends and experiences with them often inspire me. I will come up with ideas of things that fit them and will then make them a shirt based on the idea they have sparked.
