Shop Buffalo Etsy: Staying Warm and Cozy

It felt like Western New York was dropped straight into deep winter yesterday: brr! If you're looking for something to keep you or someone special warm and cozy, the Buffalo Etsy Team has got you covered. Here is a sampling of what some of our members have to offer:

This wool scarf looks soft and snuggly

It may be cold, but those texts won't send themselves!

If you don't have a fireplace, the glow of this lantern will make you feel cozy

Use this ashtray for its intended purpose, or as a place to rest the spoon from your favorite hot beverage

They may claim otherwise, but little ones get cold, too!

Claim that cup of coffee as your own with these charms

If you have to leave the house, take this with you

These guys know how to spend a cold night

These earrings will warm the heart of the homesick ex-pat

They're so cute!

Set your mug down on one of these guys

Don't you want to cuddle this llama?!

Dream of sweets underneath this quilt

So colorful!

Nothing warms you up like a homemade meal

Fruit likes to be cozy, too! Put it in this bowl

Sharing a beer and some cheer with friends warms your heart

Pour something yummy into this bowl!

I hope you found something you love in this week's gift guide. Next week we take a look at personalized gifts, but until then you can shop with the Buffalo Etsy Team right here!

Work Space...

Whether you sell on etsy part time or full time, a place to work is a must. No matter where it is you gotta get creative someplace. This new series for the blog shares the esty sellers workspace, be it a studio, kitchen table, or in a comfy chair and three items that each individual "needs" to help them succeed.
This week I am sharing my own studio space and my three must have items
that help me make mealy monsters.

I am Nicole Johnson of
Mealy Monster Land.
and this is where I create polymer clay art dolls and creatures.
I have a very small, very dark, basement "nook" that I spend way too much time in, or maybe just enough.
It is packed to the brim with supplies that are constantly becoming out of control and have to be reorganized often.

Three things that I can not work without would be music. I love Pandora radio and Spotify.

This old table with a metal top would be number two on my list. I got it at a garage sale a few years back. The metal top works perfect for rolling out clay,

The third thing on my must have list is coffee.

if you would like to share your work space with readers please contact mealy monster land for more information.

Monday Interview with Antoinette!

This week Antoinette from Anxiety Antoinette shares a little bit about her etsy shop.

Please tell us a bit about yourself?
I go by Antoinette! I'm from Buffalo, NY. I love making things with my hands, cooking and baking, reading and writing, and learning other cultures and languages.

What do you create? How long have you been working on your craft/art?
I make a bit of everything, but I "specialise" in custom bleached shirts. I've been making them for just over a year now.

How did you come up with your store name?
I made my Etsy four years ago, while I was studying French. My nickname in French class was "Antoinette." I am a fan of alliteration, and having anxiety, Anxiety Antoinette had a ring to it.

How does Buffalo influence your work?
I love Buffalo! I love representing Buffalo! I have made Buffalo shirts, NY shirts, and will make other city/state shirts as well. I also make scarves to keep warm in! (: I am also in a team with Methods & Madness's Sara, and Sewing Wonder's Pam, and we make all Buffalo-related wearables and accessories.

How do you promote your work to the world?
I do a lot online-- pinterest, facebook (www.facebook.com/anxietyantoinette), blogging (anxietyantoinette.wordpress.com), reddit, and treasuries on Etsy (www.etsy.com/shops/anxietyantoinette). I do contests and coupons on my facebook to promote sales and views. I do craft shows and give out business cards and sometimes candy with my card! I often wear my shirts in public to promote my work.

Where do your ideas come from? What do you do when your creatively blocked?
What inspires you?
I'm often inspired after a big craft show event. After so many people give me their ideas, I usually fill up with plenty of my own! After reading a good book, watching a new movie or show, or learning new things, I often come up with new ideas as well. This really helps when I get "writer's" block! My friends and experiences with them often inspire me. I will come up with ideas of things that fit them and will then make them a shirt based on the idea they have sparked.

If you would like to be featured on the blog please contact mealy monster land for more information.
