Everything Old is New Again in Hollywood Regency Style

Whether you are a vintage Etsy seller or an arts/crafts seller, it is important to keep up with trends and the latest styles.  Here is one popular trend in home design.

What is Hollywood Regency Style?

It is a decorating style made popular in the movies of 1930s and 1940s.  It has had a recent revival.  It samples from other styles such as neoclassical, art deco, modern.  Words that come to mind about this style: glamour, sophistication, elegance, eclectic, etc.

Examples of furniture/items that would fit this style (yes, you can buy them on Etsy.  You don't need to find a designer.  You are the designer.)

  1. Hi Erica,

Thanks for the mention, our store Florida Modern 33405, located in West Palm Beach, Florida is all about 1940's glamour and sophistication. Our shop is full of elegant lacquered pieces and 40's hollywood slipper chairs, mirrors, cabinets, lighting and art.

  2. Thank you, darling Erica for including my fabric. I am truly honored - as if I have just received an Oscar from the Academy!

What's so wonderful about Hollywood Regency, is that we can see it over and over again in films of the 30s and 40s. Then we can take those movie set cues and create our own opulent abode by repurposing and refurbishing with fabrics and paint.

Have fun and make it epic, darlings!
